FAM holds student timetables, grades, reports and attendance records for each child. So if a student loses their timetable of classes, for example, they can visit FAM and print out another one. Parents can also print additional copies of school reports if they need to do so.
On FAM, parents can also see the information the school holds on their family - their postal address, emergency contact details, employment information, etc. And they are able to make changes and corrections, which are then reflected back on the school database. For example, FAM is the place where children's health and health insurance details are kept. Parents should check these details on a regular basis to make sure they are up-to-date. This is very important, given the number of field trips and sports tournaments that can take students away from school overnight.
Parents can also use FAM as a contact database, to find contacts for other parents in the school. Every family decides for themselves how much contact information they would like other families to see - whether they publish just a phone number, for example, or their full postal address.
