The Programme consists of eight subject groups. Students are required to study: their mother tongue; a second language; humanities; sciences; mathematics; arts; physical education and technology. In the final year of the programme (Grade 10), ICS students also engage in a Personal Project, which allows them to demonstrate the understandings and skills they have developed throughout the programme.
The web pages in this section provide an overview of the curriculum for each grade from 6 to 10. Or you can read the full Guide to the Curriculum for students in the Middle Years Programme. This contains detailed descriptions of each aspect of the curriculum for each grade.
These eight subject groups are integrated through five areas of interaction: Health and social education; Community and service; Human ingenuity; Approaches to learning; and Environments. These provide a framework for learning within and across the subjects, as the graphic below shows.

All students from Grades 6-12 are now asked to submit papers (for assignments, etc) using a format developed by the Modern Language Association.
See an example of the format here.
ICS has its own academic honesty policy and strategies.
